"Lezardo" Villeneuve Daniel Villeneuve was born in Quebec City, Canada. He started playing congas early as a teenager - in the company of now famous Canadian percussionist Francine Martel - and perform with is own band around town. In New York he shared the stage with many great African musicians such as Martino Atangana, Missia Saran, Yacouba Sissoko, Fred Doumbe, Jojo Kuo and Awa Sanko from "Les Go de Koteba." A celebrated visual artist (www.danielvilleneuve.com), he is currently devoting all his artistic energy to the music. Possessing a creole soul, his travels to the Caribeeans and West-Africa influenced his playing. |
